My name is Susie Dyck, and I teach French I and French II at Northview. I grew
up on a farm in Iowa. I graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School and then Iowa State University. In
college I studied speech communication and French. I was able to live, study and travel for a summer
in France. After graduating in 2003, I spent two years as the head horse wrangler at a camp, where I taught people
to ride horses and lead horseback rides into the Rocky Mountains of south-central Colorado. In Colorado, I
met and married my husband, Jon, and we moved to Georgia due to his military service. We spent two
years there, where I taught French at a middle school and continued my riding as a freelance rider for a polo player. In
2007 my husband returned from six months in Iraq, and we returned to Iowa. I thoroughly enjoy being back in the
Midwest, and I love teaching at Northview!

When I'm not at school, I'm:
- Running, marathons and ultramarathons (anything
longer than 26.2 miles)
- Riding horses
- Cooking healthy and unique foods
- Spending time with family
and friends
- Helping at the Global Café at church
- Traveling (this summer: Brazil!)
